1971 Jaguar XKE Coupe
Evidentially this is a rare car, they only made a handful of 6 cylinder coupes in this year. It is a great looking car as far as I am concerned and would be even better looking if I could sell it and get it out of my shop!
It was a great running and driving car that we overhauled the engine on 5-6 years and few miles ago. After driving the car about 1000 miles the customer decided he did not want his feet to go through the floor Flintstones style so we started to work to replace the floors and rocker panels.
Now, it is sell time. Anyone want her.
Once the floors and rockers are done it should have the rear sub-frame mounts replaced and calipers overhauled. Overall, a great car that offers lots of potential!

The last Series 2 E-types had a chrome trim around the grille (sort of a pseudo Series 3 look) and a goofy “leaper” badge on their bonnets low down along the sides. You can see an example of one here. Have these been removed from this car to clean up the appearance? I say this only because there are two sorts of E-type owners: “Drivers” and “Show-ers”. A Driver won’t care about how many of what were made in what year, they only care that it is an E-type and it works. The “Show” guy is going to want everything as original as possible and will need all the important details particular to this iteration to be there and be correct. I imagine that every make and model has this dichotomy.
In this case though, rarity is not going to add up to (extra) value. It can be made a great driver, but will never be a truly desirable or valuable show car. The last of the E-type line (the “50 black” V-12s might have a bit of value, but the tail end of the S2 run has no cachet.
If you have all the numbers off the data plate, you should enter it on that registry linked above (if it isn’t already there.)
